Peace Be With You.

God’s Love In Christ is for Everyone.

Welcome to Queen Anne Lutheran Church

Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time, returning after time away, or seeking a new church home, we’re glad you’ve found us. At Queen Anne Lutheran, we strive to be a place of grace committed to rich and meaningful worship, fellowship, and service to our community.

Visiting a new church can feel intimidating—we get it.

Here’s what you’ll find on a typical Sunday:

A Warm Welcome
Greeters will say hello, offer you a bulletin, and answer any questions. There’s no assigned seating—sit wherever you feel comfortable.

A heart at the center of a yellow outline of a cross on a peach-colored background.

Thoughtful Worship
Our services follow a liturgical structure rooted in centuries of Christian tradition. We sing, pray, listen to Scripture, hear a sermon, and celebrate Holy Communion every week. The service typically lasts one hour.

Come As You Are
Dress however you like. God’s grace doesn’t come with a dress code. We’re much more interested in your presence than your wardrobe.

Kids Are Welcome
Children are full participants in our worshiping community. Wiggles and giggles are part of the joyful noise! We offer children’s bulletins and have a quiet play area available. Your instinct might be to sit in the back with littles, but we find that kids prefer a spot where they can see.

Fellowship After Service
Stick around for coffee and conversation in the narthex (lobby) adjacent to our sanctuary. It’s a great chance to meet people and learn more about the church. Our Sunday Forums—which we offer between services (9-10 am) from September through May— are another great way to grow your faith and connect with the community.

What We Believe

At Queen Anne Lutheran, we are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)—a denomination rooted in the Lutheran tradition and committed to the radical grace of God.

Centered on Christ
We believe that God’s love is revealed to us most clearly in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Through Christ, we are made new—not by what we do, but by what God has done.

Saved by Grace
In the Lutheran tradition, we believe God saves us by grace, not by earning it, but as a gift from God. This grace (or acceptance) frees us to love our neighbors and care for the world.

A Thoughtful Faith
We value asking questions, engaging Scripture with honesty, and exploring faith through learning and dialogue. Doubt and curiosity are affirmed and encouraged here.

All Are Welcome
We believe God’s love in Christ is for everyone. Regardless of your background, identity, race, gender, orientation, or questions, you are invited to full participation in the life of the church and in our community.

Why ELCA Matters.

As part of the ELCA and consistent with our mission to proclaim the love of God in Christ to every person, we:

  • Affirm the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in all aspects of church life.

  • Ordain women and men as pastors and deacons.

  • Welcome people of all ages and abilities.

  • Embrace science, reason, and scholarship as companions to faith.

  • Commit to justice, racial equity, and care for creation.

  • Encourage and invite interfaith dialogue and collaboration.

Each member is called to:

  • Regularly receive God’s grace through worship, Word, and sacraments

  • Strive to live with gratitude by serving others in response to God’s amazing grace.

  • Support the work of the church—locally and globally—through time, talents, and financial gifts, as you are able.

Membership is not about having it all figured out. It is about choosing to walk this journey of faith together—with honesty, compassion, and a commitment to show up for one another.

What Does It Mean to Be a Member?

Queen Anne Lutheran is a community of faith committed to proclaiming God’s love in Christ for every person.

When you become a member, this church becomes your spiritual home. You’re welcomed into a community of care, prayer, and shared purpose. Members receive the full support of the church, including pastoral care, weddings, funerals, counseling, and visits, and are also invited to help lead, serve, and shape our future.

As a member, you:

  • Have a voice and vote in congregational decisions

  • Are eligible to serve on Church Council and as a delegate to our regional church assembly

  • Support our shared ministry through your gifts—financial, spiritual, and personal

But most of all, membership is about belonging: Showing up for each other in prayer, in care, in community. Supporting one another as we grow in faith and live out God’s love in the world.

“At Queen Anne Lutheran Church, we walk our unique paths together. We see faith as a journey where we are free to ask questions, express our doubts, and live in hope. We seek to find something so elusive in a big city—community and fellowship—by caring for each other, our neighbors, and those in need.
We would love for you to join us.”

If you are interested or curious about joining Queen Anne Lutheran, please contact Pastor Dan or email the church office to arrange a time to talk with him. (Preparation for membership varies depending on the background and needs of each individual, so the best place to start is with a conversation.)

We receive new members every spring with a special liturgy. Reception of new members is an ongoing process over the church year, so don’t hesitate to contact Pastor Dan if you are interested in joining our community.

You are always welcome, member or not.
