Season Finale Organ Concert—Sunday, May 3

May 3 at 4PM with photo of Joseph Adam, organist

With the tenth anniversary of the Robert Wech Opus 10 organ at Queen Anne Lutheran Church missed due to the pandemic, our season finale concert celebrates fifteen years of the instrument—one of only two full-sized examples in the United States by the German organ builder.

Joseph Adam has been Cathedral Organist at Seattle’s St. James Cathedral since 1993 and Director of Music since 2018. As Resident Organist at Benaroya Hall, he performs regularly with the Seattle Symphony. He received First Prize at the 1991 St. Albans International Organ Competition, the most recent American to take top honors in this prestigious competition. He was on of three organists invited to perform on the new Rosales/Glatter-Götz organ at Disney Hall in Los Angeles as part of the 2004 National Convention of the American Guild of Organists, and his performance was featured on the nationally-syndicated radio program Pipe Dreams. Dr. Adam received undergraduate and graduate degrees in piano from the University of Iowa before beginning doctoral studies in organ at the Eastman School of Music, which awarded him the Performer’s Certificate in Organ, with further organ study at the University of Washington.
